
Ugur Cem Hasar (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (Hons.) in electrical and electronics engineering from Çukurova University, Adana, Turkey, in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree (Hons.) in electrical and computer engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton, Binghamton, NY, USA, in 2008.,From 2000 to 2005, he was a Researcher and Teaching Assistant with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Çukurova University. From 2005 to 2008, he was a Research Assistant with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Atatürk University, Erzurum, Turkey, where he was also an Assistant and Associate Professor from 2009 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2013, respectively. Since 2017, he has been a full-time Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Gaziantep University, Gaziantep, Turkey. His main research interests include nondestructive testing and evaluation of materials using microwaves, millimeter waves, and terahertz frequencies, novel calibration-dependent, calibration-independent techniques, porous silicon-based devices and their applications, and metamaterials.,Dr. Hasar was a recipient of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Münir Birsel National Doctorate Scholarship, the TUBITAK Master of Science Scholarship, the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK) Doctorate Scholarship, the Outstanding Young Scientist Award in Electromagnetics of Leopold B. Felsen Fund, the Binghamton University Distinguished Dissertation Award, the Binghamton University Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Research, the Atatürk University Science Encouragement Awards for Publications for the years 2009 and 2010, and the Gaziantep University Young Scientist Award in 2016.
